Starlight Club

Toa Payoh Central Community Club’s Youth Executive Committee (YEC) has been actively coming up with programmes and activities to connect the residents of Toa Payoh and serve the community at large. This year, we are proud to work with the Welfare Services Club for Project IDentity’ 2011.

The Youth Executive Committee belong to the community at large. YEC represent the Toa Payoh Central Youth Group – a non-profit group run by volunteers who come together from all walks of life to do what they are passionate about – outdoor adventure and guitar playing.
Under the Toa Payoh Central Community Club Youth Group, the YEC have 3 talented and spontaneous sub-clubs.
The Toa Payoh Adventure Club (TPAC) and the Toa Payoh Guitar Club (TPGC), both of which have our roots reach deep and as far as 30 years back.
The Starlight Club is a community service club newly set up by YEC and  are now looking for young people, or the young at heart to contribute their time and efforts to assisting youths with special needs and youths at risk to integrate into the community.
Besides organising regular activities for our members and public, the YEC also participate in various community projects events as well as running courses at Toa Payoh Central Community Club.
The Youth Executive Committee aims to scale new heights and embark into other areas of of interests. The YECs’ goals are to serve the dynamic generations of tomorrow in the best way they can, create a more vibrant society, and to maximise the potential of every individual.
Through fun filled and experiential activities, YEC bring out the best of individuals – enriching lives, serve as a mean for individuals to widen their social circles and in the process develop long lasting friendships.
YEC’s activities aims to bring the residents closer to music and nature to appreciate the finer things in life.
“The Starlight Club”
The Youth Executive Committee (YEC) have launched its community service club – “The Starlight Club”, under the youth group on Sunday, 15th March 2009.
 In their efforts to promote greater inclusivity in the community, the YEC have initiated a pilot project to establish and provide support to youths with special needs in the community (i.e. Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC) by:
a) providing the liaison between special schools and community to ensure that youths with special needs continue to have meaningful social activities and social support after they leave schools;
b) organizing suitable activities for different activity groups of beneficiaries;
c) connecting existing community support groups with beneficiaries.
The YEC are looking for young people, or the young at heart to contribute their time and efforts to assisting youths with special needs and youths at risk to integrate into the community
